Simon Lim Yong Hiang is Director, Listings, at Singapore Exchange’s Markets Group. In this role, Simon’s coverage includes South & Southeast Asia, Europe, and encourages companies to consider listing on Singapore Exchange (SGX), which is positioned as the Asian Gateway for international listings.
Simon was Deputy Director of Infocomm Investments Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) for 8 years where he originated, evaluated & executed private equity investment opportunities worldwide, and managed a portfolio of investee companies to support the growth of the IT and telecommunications industries in Singapore. Before joining IDA in 1998, Simon had more than five years of experience in the private and public sectors in equity investment analysis, marketing and business development. He was an Investment Analyst with Smith Barney Shearson HG Asia Securities and ABN Amro Asia Securities (S) Pte Ltd from 1993 till 1995, and in that capacity he acted as an investment representative to institutional investors and fund managers. Simon also held the positions of Assistant Director at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade & Industry, and Country Manager, Malaysia & Brunei, with Singapore Tourism Board.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, from the National University of Singapore. He also attended the Asian Business Executive Programme to Tsinghua University in Beijing, P.R.C. He is a Full Member of the Singapore Institute of Directors and held a past directorship in System Access Limited.
